As a Business Controller Energy, you act as a strategic finance partner to management and operations within a complex energy and production environment. You translate production, market and contract data into clear financial insights and support decision-making related to budgeting, investments and performance improvement.

Our client is a leading player in the energy and waste-to-energy sector, operating one of Europe's largest waste-to-energy facilities. Based in Amsterdam, the organization plays a key role in the energy transition by converting waste streams into electricity, heat and reusable materials. The company operates in a highly dynamic market with volatile energy prices, complex regulation and capital-intensive installations, where strong financial control and business insight are essential.

Functie

  • Act as finance business partner for energy operations and production units
  • Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts and financial performance
  • Track revenue targets, production planning, installation availability and cost developments
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities based on market dynamics and contract structures
  • Translate large datasets into actionable insights for management and operations
  • Prepare business cases, investment analyses and multi-year financial plans
  • Contribute to process improvements and increased financial maturity across the organization
  • Collaborate closely with Financial Controllers and other Business Controllers on reporting and steering information



Profiel

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business Economics, Finance & Control or similar
  • Several years of experience in Business Control or financial analysis
  • Experience in energy, utilities, process industry or other capital-intensive environments is a strong advantage
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to challenge assumptions
  • Experience with large datasets, Excel and BI tools
  • Proactive, pragmatic and comfortable operating in a complex stakeholder environment
  • Fluent in Dutch and English



Aanbod

  • Gross monthly salary between €5,393 and €8,042 based on 38 hours
  • Flexible working hours (32-38 hours per week)
