Job Description

In this role as Transport planner a.i. you will:

  • Plan and coordinate daily transport operations.
  • Dispatch and monitor approximately 20 company-owned tractor units.
  • Coordinate 5-10 subcontracted transport units.
  • Optimize routes, fleet utilization, and transport efficiency.
  • Monitor transport execution and proactively resolve operational issues.
  • Communicate with drivers, subcontractors, terminals, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage transport schedules within a fast-paced logistics environment.
  • Support and guide a team of transport planners/dispatchers.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex operational challenges.
  • Ensure service levels and customer expectations are consistently met.
  • Support transport operations across three rotating day shifts
  • Work with the Transport Management System (BluJay) to manage planning and operational activities.
  • Contribute to process improvements and operational continuity during the interim assignment.



The Successful Applicant

For this role as Transport planner a.i.

  • Proven experience as a Transport Planner.
  • Strong knowledge of container transport operations.
  • Extensive experience within the Port of Antwerp environment (preferred).
  • Experience coordinating both own fleet and subcontracted carriers.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and make effective decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience supporting, coaching, or leading dispatch teams is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Transport Management Systems, ideally BluJay.
  • Available for an interim assignment of 3 to 6 months and able to start at short notice.
  • Self-employed based in the Netherlands
