A fast-growing European scale-up with an established international footprint is entering a decisive next phase of development. The organisation operates across multiple European markets, has reached significant revenue scale, and is now focused on further expansion alongside a clear path towards sustainable profitability.

Functie

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Statutory CFO will be a full member of the Management Board. The CFO will lead a well-established finance function of approximately 40+ professionals, supported by a strong senior leadership layer.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as Statutory CFO and Management Board member, contributing to overall corporate strategy and long-term value creation
  • End-to-end responsibility for finance, including accounting, controlling, FP&A, treasury, tax, audit, investor relations and risk
  • Driving the transition from growth-led scaling to disciplined, profitable growth, with a strong focus on cash flow and performance management
  • Overseeing funding structures, capital allocation and financing activities in a capital-intensive growth model
  • Ensuring robust governance, internal controls and compliance in line with listed-company standards
  • Supporting international expansion and increasing operational complexity across Europe
  • Further professionalising the finance organisation and developing senior finance leadership
  • Acting as a trusted sparring partner to the Management Board, Supervisory Board, investors and external stakeholders

Profiel

The successful candidate will be a senior finance leader with a proven track record in fast-growing scale-up environments operating at board level.

Key requirements:

  • Experience as a Statutory CFO or senior finance leader within a scale-up, listed, or otherwise governance-heavy organisation
  • Strong operational finance expertise across controlling, reporting, FP&A, treasury and investor-facing activities
  • Demonstrated experience managing growth, complexity and the shift towards profitability
  • Exposure to capital markets, funding structures and investor environments
  • Background in capital- or asset-intensive, infrastructure-heavy or complex operational settings is advantageous, but industry background is intentionally open
  • Experience leading and scaling finance teams of 40+ FTE
  • Board-level presence with strong stakeholder management skills
  • Fluency in English.
