Our client is active in the FMCG of food and supplies a wide range of different food products to retailers in the Netherlands and abroad. The organization is an international player with 5.000-7.000 employees worldwide. Operating from the Netherlands, they are managed by a close-knit and international team from a beautiful office in the city centre of Rotterdam overlooking the Erasmusbridge. The company has been taken over by an Italian company and with this acquisition the product range of our client has been expanded. The vacancy as Junior International Sales Manager France FMCG Food is new role within the organisation as you will be responsible for further developing the French market with its existing partners and also new clients. You will work directly with the international senior sales manager. Furthermore, you will be part of an international sales team, and your colleagues are each responsible for their own market. Within the organization, they excel in both private label and branded products and know better than anyone how to combine quality with scalability. Within the team, you will be given plenty of room for initiative, and there is a genuine focus on how you can make a difference in your role. A personality assessment is part of the application procedure. The working language at the office is English. In this position you will be responsible for expanding the French market. Therefor fluency in French and Dutch is a must. Any other language next to the languages mentioned are a plus.

First two months you will be expected to work from the office daily, however, after this period you will have the posibility to work hybrid: at least two days in the office and the other days you can work from home.

Job Description

As Junior International Sales Manager France, you will be responsible for developing the French market by growing existing customer relationships and creating new commercial opportunities. Working closely with a Senior International Sales Manager, you will manage strategic accounts while actively seeking opportunities to expand product ranges, increase market penetration and develop new partnerships.

This role is approximately 30%-40% account management and 60%-70% business development, making it ideal for an ambitious sales professional who enjoys both relationship building and hunting for new opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop strategic key accounts within the French Retail and Foodservice markets.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing customers, ensuring long-term growth and retention.
  • Expand product listings and increase product penetration within existing accounts.
  • Develop account growth strategies to increase turnover and profitability.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities throughout France.
  • Approach and develop relationships with retailers, distributors, food manufacturers and Foodservice customers.
  • Drive new product introductions and category expansion initiatives.
  • Develop strategic partnerships and co-manufacturing opportunities with food producers and ingredient users.
  • Conduct regular customer visits, market visits and attend relevant trade fairs.
  • Build and deliver customer business plans aligned with growth objectives.
  • Monitor sales performance, margins and profitability, taking corrective actions where necessary.
  • Provide market intelligence, customer insights and competitor analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Finance, Technical and Product Development teams to ensure excellent execution.
  • Contribute to pricing strategies and margin optimisation initiatives.

The Successful Applicant

The new Junior International Sales Manager France FMCG Food recognizes him/herself in following profile:

  • Based in the Netherlands (preferably close to Rotterdam) and eligible to work in the Netherlands.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Commercial Economics, International Business or a related field.
  • Experience within the FMCG Food industry is essential, either through a commercial role, graduate programme, traineeship or highly relevant internship.
  • Passion for sales, account management and business development.
  • Commercially driven with a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Comfortable operating in a role that combines relationship management with new business acquisition.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a natural ability to identify growth opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
  • Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken (mandatory).
  • Dutch language skills are considered a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and a results-oriented approach.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced international environment.
  • Willing to travel regularly within France (around 3 to 4 times a month).
  • Possession of a valid driver's licence.

You will receive a direct contract from our client under which the following conditions will apply:

  • Salary between €2.800 - €3.800 gross per month based on 40 hours workweek, depending on your experience.
  • Permanent full-time position within a growing international FMCG Food organisation.
  • Lease car allowance of approximately €800 gross per month.
