Job Description

  • Define and execute the engineering strategy for a large-scale Operations Intelligence platform.
  • Build, lead, mentor, and grow multidisciplinary teams across software engineering, AI/ML, data science, and optimisation.
  • Drive the development of digital twin capabilities that model end-to-end operational processes and support strategic decision-making.
  • Lead the implementation of operations research solutions, including mathematical optimisation and simulation models.
  • Establish engineering best practices, governance frameworks, architecture standards, and delivery processes.
  • Partner closely with business leaders to translate operational challenges into scalable technology solutions.
  • Own platform roadmap prioritisation, balancing commercial objectives with technical excellence.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through advanced analytics, process mining, automation, and predictive modelling.
  • Develop integrated planning and decision-support systems that improve operational coordination and resource utilisation.
  • Oversee cloud-native platform architecture, MLOps standards, and AI product delivery.
  • Ensure successful execution of complex transformation programmes involving multiple stakeholders and business functions.
  • Create performance frameworks that connect operational outcomes to measurable business value and return on investment.
  • Lead strategic vendor, partner, and technology evaluations to support long-term capability development.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience leading engineering organisations within complex operational environments.
  • Strong people leadership background with a demonstrated ability to build, coach, and scale high-performing teams.
  • Experience delivering AI, machine learning, analytics, or optimisation platforms that generated measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering, cloud technologies, data platforms, and modern development practices.
  • Experience translating business strategy into technology roadmaps and execution plans.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Commercially, with a strong understanding of operational performance, efficiency, and value creation.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-paced, and transformational environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities combined with strategic thinking.
  • Experience within logistics, supply chain, transportation, manufacturing, infrastructure, or other asset-intensive industries is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of simulation, optimisation, digital twins, operational planning, or industrial analytics is highly preferred.
