Over onze klant

Our client is a fast-growing technology company with operations across several international markets. As the business continues to scale, the need for reliable, consistent and actionable performance information has become increasingly important. Finance plays a key role in connecting commercial activity, operational outcomes and financial results. To support this next stage of development, the organisation is looking for a Senior Business Controller who will take ownership of key financial processes while helping establish a clear and trusted data foundation across the business.

Functie

  • Own the monthly close and ensure financial reporting, operational metrics and management dashboards reconcile accurately and consistently.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes, translating business drivers into robust financial models.
  • Develop and maintain performance reporting packs covering revenue, margin, cash flow and key business KPIs.
  • Partner closely with finance, data and commercial teams to create a single, trusted view of business performance.
  • Define financial and operational metric frameworks, establish reporting standards and improve data governance across the organisation.
  • Analyse revenue streams, commercial performance and cost drivers to identify trends, risks and growth opportunities.
  • Support group reporting activities, audit processes, system improvements and future finance transformation initiatives.
  • Act as a strategic business partner to senior leadership, providing insight, challenging assumptions and supporting investment and resource allocation decisions.

Profiel

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Econometrics or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 6-10 years of experience in Business Control, FP&A, Financial Reporting or Controlling within a technology, digital or high-growth environment.
  • Strong understanding of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow dynamics, with experience managing forecasting and performance reporting processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with large datasets, financial models and business intelligence tools to generate meaningful insights.
  • A highly developed data mindset, combining financial expertise with curiosity, analytical rigour and a drive to improve data quality.
  • Experience translating business questions into reporting requirements and collaborating effectively with data, analytics or BI specialists.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to challenge assumptions and influence decision-making through facts and analysis.

The data mindset

This role requires more than strong financial control capabilities. The successful candidate is naturally driven to understand how data flows through an organisation and how different teams measure success. Rather than accepting conflicting reports, you investigate root causes, establish clear definitions and build trust in the numbers. You enjoy working at the intersection of finance, analytics and business strategy, creating transparency where complexity exists.

  • You challenge decisions with evidence rather than assumptions.
  • You create clear KPI definitions and maintain consistency across teams.
  • You are comfortable moving between detailed transaction-level analysis and executive-level insights.
  • You proactively identify data quality issues and drive sustainable solutions.
  • You see reporting as a decision-making tool, not simply a finance process.
  • You understand that scalable growth requires scalable data foundations.

Aanbod

  • Opportunity to shape financial performance management within a rapidly growing international technology business.
  • High visibility across senior leadership and involvement in strategic decision-making.
  • A role that combines finance, business partnering, reporting, analytics and data governance.
  • Exposure to international operations, growth projects, process optimisation and finance transformation initiatives.
  • Modern Amsterdam-based working environment with an entrepreneurial and collaborative culture.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package, to be discussed during the recruitment process.
  • Significant opportunities for professional development as the organisation continues to grow.
