Responsible and varied freight forwarding position

Over onze klant

Our client is a leading international logistics organisation operating in the global freight and transportation industry. The organisation provides customers with reliable and efficient logistics solutions and manages shipments across multiple international markets.Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Freight Forwarder to join the team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating international shipments and ensuring that the entire freight forwarding process runs smoothly and efficiently.

Functie

As a Freight Forwarder, you will play a key role in coordinating and managing international shipments. You will work closely with customers, carriers, agents and internal departments to ensure that shipments are handled accurately and delivered on time.

Your responsibilities will include:

Coordinating international freight shipments from origin to destination;
Managing the day-to-day forwarding process and monitoring shipment progress;
Maintaining contact with customers, carriers, agents and other logistics partners;
Preparing, checking and processing transport and shipping documentation;
Monitoring shipment status and proactively addressing delays or operational issues;
Providing customers with regular updates regarding their shipments;
Processing shipment information and documentation in internal systems;
Coordinating with internal departments to ensure smooth operational processes;
Handling exceptions and finding appropriate solutions when issues arise;
Ensuring that all shipments are processed accurately and in accordance with agreed procedures;
Contributing to continuous improvements within the logistics and forwarding processes.

You will work in a dynamic international environment where communication, organisation and attention to detail are essential.

Profiel

We are looking for a proactive and organised professional who enjoys working in an international logistics environment. You are customer-focused, commercially aware and able to maintain an overview when managing multiple shipments simultaneously.

You bring:

MBO+ or HBO working and thinking level, preferably in Logistics, Transport or a related field;
Previous experience in freight forwarding, logistics or international transport;
Good command of English, both written and spoken;
Dutch is a plus, but not a requirement;
Strong organisational and administrative skills;
Excellent communication skills and a customer-oriented approach;
A proactive and solution-oriented mindset;
The ability to work accurately under time pressure and meet deadlines;
The ability to prioritise and switch easily between different tasks;
Experience with logistics or transport management systems is an advantage;
A strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
