An international organisation is looking for an experienced Senior IT Buyer a.i. to manage strategic sourcing, commercial negotiations, vendor relationships, and contract governance across a complex global technology portfolio. This is a 12-month assignment requiring a specialist who can quickly take ownership of key suppliers, software agreements, cloud services, and procurement initiatives in a multinational environment.

Job Description

As Senior IT Buyer a.i. you will be responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities across a broad range of technology categories.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading sourcing activities for software, cloud services, cybersecurity solutions, telecommunications, infrastructure.
  • Developing and executing sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives and budget requirements.
  • Managing RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, supplier evaluations, and commercial negotiations.
  • Negotiating complex software licensing agreements, cloud subscriptions, support agreements, maintenance contracts, and professional services contracts.
  • Leading strategic contract renewals and commercial reviews with key technology vendors.
  • Reviewing pricing models, licensing structures, contractual terms, and commercial risk provisions.
  • Partnering closely with Legal teams on contract negotiations, liability clauses, service levels, and governance requirements.
  • Managing supplier relationships and conducting regular performance reviews with strategic vendors.
  • Identifying cost-saving, cost-avoidance, and contract optimisation opportunities.
  • Supporting software asset management and licensing governance initiatives.
  • Advising stakeholders on software licensing implications relating to organisational change and business requirements.
  • Supporting annual budgeting, forecasting, and technology investment business cases.
  • Ensuring compliance with procurement policies, governance frameworks, and audit requirements.
  • Preparing executive-level recommendations and supporting senior stakeholder decision-making.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will be an experienced IT procurement professional with a proven track record managing complex technology sourcing and commercial negotiations within multinational organisations.

Aa a Senior IT Buyer a.i. you will demonstrate:

  • Significant experience in IT procurement, category management, strategic sourcing, or technology vendor management.
  • Extensive experience negotiating large-scale software, SaaS, and cloud agreements.
  • Strong understanding of software licensing models, cloud consumption-based contracts, and enterprise agreements.
  • Experience managing procurement activities across multiple countries and jurisdictions.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience delivering cost savings and negotiating favourable contractual outcomes.
  • The ability to review and negotiate legal and commercial contract terms, including liability, risk allocation, termination rights, and service commitments.
  • Experience working with global technology vendors, resellers, and managed service providers.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior business and technology leaders.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • The ability to operate independently and manage multiple high-priority activities simultaneously.
  • Fluency in English
