As Senior Buyer, you are responsible for developing and optimizing strategic procurement across multiple product categories. Alongside your sourcing responsibilities, you will lead multidisciplinary projects and contribute to building a more structured, proactive and data-driven procurement function.

Job Description

  • Developing and implementing sourcing strategies across several product categories;
  • Improving and professionalizing procurement processes and systems;
  • Identifying, selecting and developing new suppliers;
  • Optimizing the existing supplier network;
  • Negotiating commercial conditions and strengthening contractual agreements;
  • Developing structured supplier performance management;
  • Identifying opportunities related to cost, quality, service and innovation;
  • Continuously challenging and optimizing existing supplier agreements;
  • Leading and supporting multidisciplinary projects related to areas such as outsourcing, new product development, portfolio optimization and cost reduction;
  • Working closely with Engineering, R&D, Supply Chain, Operations, Sales and Product Management;
  • Translating technical developments and new ideas into viable sourcing opportunities;
  • Actively monitoring supplier markets and identifying potential strategic partners;
  • Increasing the use of data and emerging technology within procurement decision-making;
  • Creating greater standardization and structure, enabling Procurement to operate proactively instead of reactively



The Successful Applicant

  • Experience in strategic purchasing or procurement;
  • Experience in, or strong affinity with, manufacturing, chemicals or a comparable industrial environment;
  • Strong commercial capabilities combined with sufficient technical understanding to collaborate effectively with specialists;
  • Experience with strategic sourcing, supplier management and contract negotiations;
  • The ability to manage complex, multidisciplinary projects;
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills;
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial and decisive approach;
  • Genuine curiosity about technology, markets and new solutions;
  • The ability to introduce structure while remaining pragmatic and results-oriented.
