About Our Client

Our client is a well-established and growing organisation operating across multiple locations in the Netherlands. With a strong focus on operational excellence and sound financial governance, the company is investing further in its finance function to support continued growth, regulatory compliance, and process optimisation. Due to ongoing development within the finance team, they are looking to appoint a Financial Accounting Manager based in Amsterdam.

Job Description

  • Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process.
  • Manage statutory accounts preparation and coordinate external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with Dutch GAAP, tax regulations, and internal control requirements.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of financial accounting professionals.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to improve finance processes and reporting quality.
  • Coordinate with tax advisers, auditors, and external regulatory bodies.
  • Drive finance transformation initiatives, including automation and process standardisation.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience within financial accounting, audit, or financial control roles.
  • Strong knowledge of Dutch accounting standards and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Fluent Dutch and professional-level English communication skills.
  • Experience leading and developing finance teams.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience with ERP systems and finance process improvement projects is advantageous.
