A Business Controller role within a technical services organisation, responsible for managing the financial performance of projects and contract portfolios. You will work closely with project managers and leadership teams, providing forecasting, reporting and financial insights, while identifying risks, supporting commercial decisions, improving processes, and helping drive profitability, cash flow and overall business performance.

Job Description

  • Manage and oversee the financial control of complex projects and contract portfolios.
  • Monitor and optimize financial processes, including budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, cost control, and cash flow management.
  • Prepare accurate and insightful financial reports for both financial and operational stakeholders.
  • Analyze project plans, contracts, and financial performance to identify risks and opportunities at an early stage.
  • Advise Project Managers, Contract Managers, and senior management on financial matters and decision-making.
  • Prepare and review decisions that have significant financial impact.
  • Initiate and support process improvements within Finance & Control.
  • Share knowledge and best practices to further strengthen the financial maturity of the organization.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree (HBO level) in Finance, Business Economics, Accountancy, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Controller, Financial Controller, or a similar Finance & Control role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and business partnering.
  • Strong understanding of Moneth-end-Closing actvities.
  • Experience working within project-based organizations or contract-driven environments.
  • Solid understanding of project and contract management.
  • Experience with SAP is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent command of the English language; Dutch is considered a plus.
  • Able to advise and challenge stakeholders at both operational and management levels.
