Job Description

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Accounting Supervisor to oversee daily accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining financial integrity, supporting business decisions, and driving continuous improvement across finance processes.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise daily accounting activities, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.
Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with Dutch GAAP and IFRS where applicable.
Monitor inventory accounting and manufacturing cost accounting processes, ensuring accurate product costing and inventory valuation.
Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations, statutory requirements, and internal control policies.
Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities.
Analyze production and operational costs, providing insights to improve profitability and cost efficiency.
Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities within the finance function.
Supervise and develop accounting staff, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
Collaborate with production, procurement, supply chain, and operations teams to support business objectives.

The Successful Applicant

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing or industrial environments.
Previous experience supervising or mentoring finance team members.
Strong knowledge of Dutch accounting standards, financial reporting, and taxation.
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, or similar manufacturing ERP platforms.
Solid understanding of inventory accounting, cost accounting, and manufacturing processes.
Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills.
Fluent in Dutch and English.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
Hands-on, proactive mindset with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic production environment.
