Our client is a leading logistics distribution and supply chain organization in Den Haag. The company is currently undertaking several strategic warehouse and supply chain initiatives, including the implementation of a new WMS.

Job Description

In this role as WMS Engineer a.i. you will:

  • Support the implementation and deployment of a new WMS
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve operational and system-related issues prior to and after go-live.
  • Perform root cause analysis to determine the cause of warehouse and system disruptions.
  • Collaborate closely with warehouse operations, engineering teams, and project stakeholders.
  • Configure, test, and validate system functionality to ensure business requirements are met.
  • Support the rollout of a new supply chain lane within the logistics network.
  • Monitor system performance and recommend improvements to increase operational stability.
  • Assist with integration activities related to customer implementations and warehouse processes.
  • Translate operational challenges into technical solutions within the WMS environment.
  • Participate in user acceptance testing and go-live preparation activities.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and improvement initiatives.
  • Provide support during critical implementation phases and hypercare periods.
  • Work closely with engineering leadership to prioritize and execute improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure warehouse processes and system functionality remain aligned throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across logistics and warehouse operations.

The Successful Applicant

Requirements for this WMS Engineer a.i. assignment:

  • Proven experience implementing Warehouse Management Systems within logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, or production environments.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations and supply chain processes.
  • Experience with system implementations, testing, and go-live support.
  • Demonstrated capability in root cause analysis and structured problem solving.
  • Strong technical affinity, with the ability to bridge operational and IT-related topics.
  • Experience troubleshooting system and process-related issues in complex environments.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Flexible and hands-on mindset, comfortable operating in a changing project environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience within contract logistics, 3PL, warehousing, or production environments.
  • Strong analytical and process improvement capabilities.
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Availability for on-site work four days per week in The Hague.
  • Available for a 32-40 hour work week and able to start as soon as possible.
  • Registered as ZZP and based in the Netherlands.
