Its solutions are applied across a variety of industrial markets and are designed for challenging operating conditionsJob DescriptionLeading the mechanical design and development of pneumatic and electric actuator systems, including gearboxes, motor couplings, mechanical interfaces and safety-related components;Translating functional requirements such as torque, speed, duty cycle, ergonomics and environmental conditions into robust mechanical and electromechanical designs;Designing gear trains, gearboxes, reaction systems and mechanical drive components and integrating these with pneumatic and electric motors;Developing mechanical interfaces and mounting solutions for various industrial applications;Performing engineering calculations and FEM/FEA simulations related to strength, fatigue, stiffness and safety factors;Optimising designs for reliability, weight, cost and manufacturability;Building, assembling, testing and refining prototypes using machined and 3D-printed components;Developing and executing test plans covering functional performance, durability, environmental conditions, ingress protection, torque and speed;Supporting certification-related testing where applicable;Creating complete 3D models, technical drawings, tolerance analyses and bills of materials using SolidWorks or comparable CAD software;Working closely with electronics and controls specialists on electromechanical modules involving electric motors, torque control, speed control and safety functionality;Collaborating with suppliers on manufacturability, component selection and production tooling;Supporting prototype builds, validation activities and the transition from development into production;Providing mechanical engineering expertise to internal stakeholders across Product Management, Operations, Quality and Sales;Contributing new ideas for future product concepts and technology platforms;Continuously improving existing designs based on engineering insight, testing and practical experienceThe Successful ApplicantYou are more than an experienced CAD engineer. You are a product developer who enjoys understanding why something works and how it can be made better.Complex technical problems trigger your curiosity. You are comfortable switching between calculations, simulation, CAD work, prototypes and physical testing.You can develop solutions independently while understanding that successful product development requires close collaboration. You communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and enjoy working with colleagues from different disciplines and within an international environment.
