Job Description



As Finance Manager, you will be a trusted business partner to senior leadership and a driving force behind the organisation's financial health, operational effectiveness, and long-term sustainability.

Financial Leadership

  • Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and planning cycle
  • Develop and monitor organisational and project budgets
  • Strengthen financial controls, governance, and reporting frameworks
  • Provide management with valuable financial insights and recommendations
  • Manage audits, compliance, and accounting activities
  • Support grant management, donor reporting, and contract administration
  • Ensure compliance with international financial and tax regulations

Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, coach, and inspire a team
  • Create a high-performance, collaborative working environment
  • Define departmental goals and strategic priorities
  • Support employee growth, development, and engagement
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior management and key stakeholders

The Successful Applicant



Required

  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline
  • At least 7 years of relevant professional experience
  • Strong expertise in finance, reporting, compliance, and control
  • Proven leadership and people management experience
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Hands-on mentality with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Dutch
  • EU citizenship or a valid Dutch work permit



Nice to Have

  • Experience within NGOs, non-profits, or mission-driven organisations
  • Knowledge of Dutch financial and tax regulations
  • Experience managing outsourced services and supplier relationships
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace, AFAS, and ClickUp
