The role requires strong analytical and professional judgement, the ability to evaluate complex contractual arrangements, and the confidence to provide accounting guidance across the business.Working closely with Group Accounting & Consolidation, Finance Managers, operational stakeholders, and external auditors, the Senior Accounting Manager supports high-quality financial reporting and a strong control environment.Balance Sheet Management* Maintain ownership of key balance sheet accounts, including fixed assets, inventory, leases, accruals, prepayments, and maintenance-related balances * Ensure balances are accurately recorded, reconciled, supported, and compliant with IFRS and internal policiesLease Accounting* Assess and oversee the accounting treatment of lease arrangements, particularly aircraft and engine leases * Review contract terms and determine appropriate accounting treatment in accordance with IFRS 16 * Ensure accurate accounting for right-of-use assets, lease liabilities, lease income, and related transactionsInventory & Fixed Assets* Oversee accounting for aircraft, engines, spare parts, and work-in-progress inventory * Ensure appropriate accounting for acquisitions, disposals, transfers, depreciation, impairment, and inventory provisions * Support correct classification of assets, inventory, operational expenses, and cost of salesTechnical Accounting & Advisory* Provide accounting guidance on complex transactions and areas requiring professional judgement * Prepare technical accounting assessments and position papers where required * Partner with Group Accounting to ensure consistent application of IFRS and corporate accounting policies * Support the adoption of new accounting standards and policy updatesFinancial Reporting & Controls* Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities for assigned accounting areas * Review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for accuracy and completeness * Maintain effective financial controls and drive continuous improvements in accounting processes and documentationAudit & Compliance* Act as a key contact for external auditors on leases, fixed assets, inventory, and related balance sheet accounts * Coordinate audit requests, provide supporting documentation, and explain accounting positions and judgements * Support financial statement disclosures and timely resolution of audit findingsStakeholder Collaboration* Work closely with finance, operations, and Group Accounting teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong governance * Provide technical accounting support to business initiatives, contracts, and strategic projectsThe Successful ApplicantQualification and Experience EssentialProfessional accounting qualification, such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, CA, RA, CIMA, or equivalent.Strong technical accounting knowledge under IFRS.Experience in financial accounting, technical accounting, audit, or controllership.Strong understanding of lease accounting, particularly IFRS 16.Ability to interpret complex contracts and determine appropriate accounting treatment.Experience preparing accounting papers or technical accounting memos.Experience working with external auditors.Strong attention to detail and commitment to accounting accuracy.Ability to communicate accounting matters clearly to finance and non-finance stakeholders.Strong written and verbal communication in EnglishDesirableExperience in aviation, aircraft leasing, engine leasing, asset leasing, manufacturing, engineering, or another asset-intensive industry.Experience with aircraft engines, aircraft, engine parts, maintenance reserves, or operational lease structures.Experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP C4, or SAP RE-FX.Additional language skills - Dutch and GermanSkills & CompetenciesStrong technical accounting judgement.High level of accuracy and attention to detail.Strong understanding of balance sheet accounting and controls.Ability to interpret contracts and identify accounting implications.Clear written communication, especially for accounting memos.Strong stakeholder management.Ability to challenge and advise the business appropriately.Organised and able to manage deadlines.Comfortable working in a complex, international, asset-heavy environment.What's on OfferGreat career opportunityContactYagiz RecepQuote job refJN-082026-7079689Job summarySectorFinanceSub SectorFinancial AccountingIndustryIndustrial / Manufacturing Jobs by locationAmsterdamContract TypePermanentConsultantYagiz RecepJob ReferenceJN-082026-7079689Remote or officeWork from home
