We are looking for a Transport supervisor, responsible for managing all freight activities across Europe. It includes leading the EMEA transportation team, managing freight budgets, and analyzing costs and service levels to drive improvements. The position supports Operations, Commercial, Finance, and other stakeholders as needed.

Our client is a global manufacturer and supplier of sleep products and accessories based in Roosendaal. The company serves major retail, hospitality, and e‑commerce customers, with a focus on innovation, quality, and large‑scale manufacturing.

Functie

  • Oversee daily freight and transportation operations across Europe, with a key focus on the Roosendaal area
  • Lead, coach, and develop transportation and logistics teams to drive high performance
  • Coordinate with logistics and business teams to ensure efficient routes, schedules, and on‑time customer deliveries
  • Prepare freight budgets twice per year and monitor monthly spend and cost performance
  • Track and report on key transportation KPIs, service levels, and cost efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations, including hazardous materials, temperature‑controlled transport, customs, and internal policies
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives through benchmarking, supplier collaboration, and process optimization
  • Support the development and execution of regional transportation strategies aligned with business needs
  • Lead transportation‑related projects and resolve operational issues promptly and effectively
  • Align distribution center capacity with demand and operational priorities
  • Maintain accurate records of transportation activities and costs
  • Support Lean initiatives and actively participate in Kaizen and continuous improvement programs

Profiel

A successful Transport supervisor should have:

  • Bachelor's degree (HBO) in Transport, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • At least 5 years in logistics, transportation, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of people management or supervisory experience
  • Strong logical and structured working style
  • Solid knowledge of freight markets and carrier networks
  • Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to solve problems and propose practical solutions
  • Comfortable working independently and managing priorities
  • Advanced MS Office skills; SAP experience preferred
  • Experience with change management and continuous improvement
