You will contribute to the analysis, specification, design, and verification of our products, subsystems and/ or components, and the documentation of our projects. You work mostly in multidisciplinary teams. Together with your specialist colleagues, the program manager and subcontractors you will solve design problems. You are capable to check production drawings for your own area of work and to specify materials and other necessities.
If necessary the mechanical design concept will be checked by performing a strength test or a dynamic test. You will have to put together a test plan and test predictions. Besides, you will coordinate the preparation and execution of the test at location. Furthermore, you will analyse the test results and summarize the conclusions in an official test report.
In addition to your contribution to the products we expect you to actively follow the developments in your area of knowledge. You inform your colleagues and the teamleader. You contribute to the developments of new methods (and procedures) both within your area as well as other disciplines. You have a natural ability to persuade and make your colleagues enthusiastic. You join and lead them to the targets of the department.
You are also available for the execution of research programmes for new developments in your area of knowledge.
You have successfully obtained a university degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aeronautics and Space and at least five years of relevant experience. You portray knowledge of lightweight composites and metal structures and you have expert knowledge of design and engineering.
In addition, you are experienced in testing structures (including simulation, prediction and correlation). You have thorough knowlege of both lineair and non-lineair FEM analysis (global, local) and preferably skills in ABAQUS. Knowledge and experience with NASTRAN is preferred.
You are a flexible and creative person who is able to cooperate with colleagues and customers. You are result driven and able to plan your project- and daily work in a structural manner. You speak and write English. You are analytic and communicative. You fit the profile below:
