We are looking for a Senior Buyer who is responsible for managing and optimising procurement activities to support efficient manufacturing and production operations. This role drives sourcing strategies, supplier performance, and cost savings while ensuring continuity of supply.

Job Description

  • Lead end-to-end procurement activities for direct and indirect materials used in manufacturing.
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies that align with production planning and business objectives.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service levels with suppliers to secure optimal commercial terms.
  • Manage supplier relationships, including performance monitoring, risk assessment, and continuous improvement actions.
  • Collaborate closely with production, engineering, quality, and finance teams to ensure material availability and specification compliance.
  • Analyse market trends, raw material availability, and pricing developments to proactively manage supply risks.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives through value engineering, supplier consolidation, and alternative sourcing.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies, sustainability standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare procurement reports, forecasts, and KPIs for senior management.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Buyer should have:

  • A degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes and practices.
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector,
  • Excellent negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and tools.
  • Fluency in English; additional language skills are an advantage.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
