Functie



The Financial Accountant ensures accurate reporting, smooth periodical closings, and full compliance with accounting standards across several European entities. The role involves technical accounting tasks, process documentation, and close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing monthly, quarterly, and year‑end closing processes
  • Preparing statutory financial statements and IFRS adjustments
  • Maintaining and reviewing multiple general ledger sets
  • Performing reconciliations (intercompany, bank, trial balance)
  • Handling depreciation, accruals, prepayments, and revaluations
  • Coordinating with external auditors and supporting audit preparation
  • Managing VAT compliance, corporate tax estimates, and deferred tax items
  • Uploading and reviewing data in the group consolidation system
  • Documenting processes and contributing to team development
  • Planning annual accounting activities and key deadlines ahead of time

Profiel

  • Strong communicator who can liaise effectively with internal teams and external auditors
  • Solid background in real estate administration (mandatory)
  • Hands‑on, accurate, and detail‑oriented working style
  • Ability to train and support colleagues on accounting topics
  • Skilled at documenting processes and improving workflows
  • Experienced in managing multiple entities and complex closing cycles
  • 5+ years in financial accounting, ideally with exposure to real estate or alternative investments
  • Strong knowledge of local GAAP and IFRS
  • Proficient in Excel and accounting systems
  • Able to work independently and manage deadlines
  • Fluent in Dutch and English; an additional European language is a plus
  • Not looking for fast‑track corporate growth - enjoys stability and depth in the role
