Job Description

  • Strategy and policy: Develop policies and objectives for the assigned unit and contribute to the development of the strategy on a level higher
  • Year plan/budget: Ensure development, manage and ensure realization year plan/budget for the assigned unit, acquire approval, ensure and manage execution and deliver results
  • Organization development: Evaluate organizational design, (work)processes and systems and intiate and implement changes and improvements
  • People management and development: Attract, lead, coach, appraise and develop employees, ensure staffing and stimulate talent(management)
  • Knowledge and information management: Keep up with internal and external developments and ensure development, transfer and retention of knowledge and information
  • Management information: Provide insights regarding quantitative and qualitative developments by means of periodical and ad hoc reports and/or analyses
  • Relations management: Build and maintain a network of in- and external stakeholders/partners and represent the organization
  • Projects: Define, plan, manage and co-ordinate assigned (portfolio of) projects and ensure execution and delivery

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor or Masters degree in HSE&S or engineering or a related discipline
  • 3-5 years work experience in a similar role within manufacturing preferably in chemical industry
  • Fluent in the Dutch language. Any additional language beside English is a plus
  • Strong strategic and conceptual skills with ability to execute and follow through
  • Positive influencing: ability to convince others, gain agreement or acceptance of plans, activities and ability to move others willingly towards a desired goal or course of action
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement of the processes, policies, standards
  • Able to work in an inclusive way in the HSE community to make sure the business experiences 'one voice' and the teams collective objectives are met
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, entrepreneurship, result oriented, negotiation, problem solving, project management, business acumen
  • Very good verbal and written English language skills
  • Relevant experience in different multiple units, disciplines, locations and/or other companies
  • Broad (people) management capabilities
