Job Description

The Global Category Manager reports directly to the Project Director - indirect spends transformation

He/She owns the global strategy for the assigned category(ies) and is accountable for strategy design, supplier segmentation, global sourcing events, and category governance.

The Global Category Manager collaborates closely with:

  • Regional Category Managers and local buyers to ensure strategy deployment.
  • GPS team for analytics, e-sourcing, and contract lifecycle management support.
  • Functional stakeholders across Marketing, IT, Supply Chain, HR, Finance, and Operations.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive global strategy for assigned category(ies), aligned with business goal
  • Lead global sourcing events and contract negotiations to deliver cost savings, improved service levels, and risk mitigation
  • Define preferred supplier lists and drive supplier segmentation, innovation, and performance improvement globally
  • Drive supplier-led innovation and integrate sustainability targets into sourcing strategy
  • Provide global price forecasts and budget inputs for category(ies) in coordination with regions and will be responsible for annual budgets globally, in close coordination with Regional teams
  • Deliver measurable savings targets, process improvements, and risk mitigation
  • Ensure that all procurement action undertaken is in full compliance with PVM policies, procedures and code of conduct
  • Work closely with regional category managers to deploy strategies and support execution locally

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree
  • English speaking
  • >10 years of experience in Strategic Procurement
  • Indirect/NPR knowledge/experience (e.g. MRO, Facilities, IT, Logistics)
  • Sustainable sourcing
  • Familiar with Category Management
  • Project Management skills
  • Strong in negotiation
  • International/corporate experience
  • Strong in analytically skills
  • Extensive overall knowledge of various functional domains related to Procurement Processes; e.g. Order to Cash, Purchase to Pay, Catalogue Buying Systems and Supplier Market Places
  • Knowledge of SAP Ariba
