The company transports over 1.5 million passengers per year by fast ferries on inland water ways within the BeNeLux, in a safe and sustainable way.


  • The General Manager develops the key company goals and growth strategies in line with the set objectives by the Board and CEO.
  • In line with these goals the General Manager formulates policies, sets KPI's, allocates budgets and resources and have department heads set their goals accordingly.
  • The General Manager, assisted by the Financial Manager, monitors and analyses the data and information on above said. This includes, but is not limited to, operational costs, fleet performance, quality of service, staff, etc.
  • When the data indicates deviations (positive or negative) the General Manager reports to the CEO, Board and other parties in a timely manner and will act upon this data by adjusting plans accordingly.
  • The entrepreneurial spirit and vision in directing business functions of the General Manager will be directed towards maintaining relationships with clients and prospective clients, optimal organisational productivity, quality of service, sustainability and achieving overall business goals.
  • The General Manager is supported by 5 department heads directly: Technical, Operations, finance, HSE&Q, HR and indirectly by around 140 staff members. He/She reports to the CEO and Board of Shareholders.
  • The General Manager will be primarily based at Zwijndrecht, The Netherlands, with irregular traveling (for shorter periods of time) to suppliers, clients and or operational centres.


  • Degree in business management and/or relevant Degree to the transportation industry
  • Fluent in Dutch and English
  • At least 3-5 year's experience in a similar role: General Manager, Operations Manager, Head of Operations, etc.
  • Must possess at least 3 - 5 year's experience in managing passenger service operations (rail / bus / ferry / tram). Other forms of non-passenger related transportation are applicable too.
  • Previous experience in the BeNeLux region is preferred
  • Experience in dealing with Regional Governments / Subsidies / Tenders
  • Experience in change management
  • Familiarity with process improvement principles
  • Working knowledge of marketing strategies and financial acumen
