Cost Accountant / Controller - Manufacturing - Hybrid

As a Cost Accountant / Controller, you will play a key role in global cost accounting processes, ensuring accurate material and inventory valuation, cost control, and financial reporting. You will be responsible for coordinating cost accounting activities worldwide and providing insights into production costs, variances, and inventory control. Your analyses and recommendations will directly contribute to optimizing cost efficiency, improving production planning, and enhancing overall profitability. The key responsibilities are as follows:

Cost Accounting:

• Oversee global cost accounting processes, ensuring compliance with IFRS, HGB, and tax laws.
• Maintain and analyze material and inventory valuation, including setting up new materials and costing in SAP.
• Conduct material ledger actual costing and variance analysis.
• Perform month-end closing activities, including legal and group valuation reconciliation, inventory balance sheet reconciliation, and standard costing runs.
• Ensure proper inventory controls, verification, and annual/monthly counts in coordination with financial auditors.
• Monitor and review actual material prices and update production tariffs as needed.

Controlling Activities:

• Analyze manufacturing costs, including materials, labor, and overhead, using SAP and other financial tools to compare against budgets and provide detailed reports to management.
• Maintain accounting and costing views of master data for materials.
• Coordinate the tariff update process during annual planning and year-end closing calculations.
• Ensure accurate product and customer-specific profitability analysis.
• Collaborate with corporate finance and other departments to support financial reporting and audits.
• Participate in production and staff meetings to provide cost and inventory insights.

Besides the Accounting & Controlling elements of the position, the IT/System part also plays a significant role. For this position it is required to have helped or driven projects related to:

• Setting up cost center and profit center allocations in SAP
• Setting up calculation runs for the inventory in SAP
• Ideally, help implementing and testing of actual costing for the inventory
