Our client is a prominent provider of tailored solutions and services for machinery, control systems, and instrumentation across sectors such as oil and gas, power generation, and petrochemicals. They are currently focused on expanding their European operations and driving strategic growth in a dynamic market.

Functie

In this role we are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Accountant/Controller to manage monthly accounts, financial reporting, payroll, and tax compliance across its international locations. This role requires a hands-on approach, with the candidate providing expert advice, managing financial controls, and supporting the finance team through various ad-hoc projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and group reports, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business and group requirements.
  • Prepare year-end statutory draft accounts for review and finalization by the Head of Finance.
  • Assist with internal audits, addressing and resolving finance-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Oversee the purchase ledger function, ensuring timely payment to suppliers.
  • Accurately calculate and pay taxes, including VAT, corporation tax, and other relevant duties.
  • Manage payroll processing, journal entries, and complete the reporting and administration cycle.
  • Provide expert advice, guidance, and support to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead ad-hoc projects and provide support/training to the Accounts & Admin Assistant.
  • Perform any other duties as required to support the finance team.

Profiel

  • Strong background in accounting and finance, with experience in managing monthly accounts, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Proactive and detail-oriented, able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Expertise in tax compliance and financial controls.
  • Strong communication skills to provide advice and support to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Excel and database systems.
  • Fluency in English. Dutch is a plus
