UBM Live is a division of United Business Media delivering mainly market leading trade shows. UBM Live has offices in Amsterdam the Netherlands, UK, USA, Brazil and in the UAE and the business spans across 5 continents. The business managed from the Amsterdam office is in pharmaceutical and food ingredients shows such as CPhI and the Food series. The division has expanded into organizing conferences and online products to support their events. In 2009 the division grew by 20% year on year. The total size of all the exhibitions held around the world was over 300,000m2 (the equivalent of 75 football fields).
Our client is looking for Senior Financial Analyst who will support the Financial Controller (FC) to drive the financial performance of the business and be responsible for the following activities:

Review weekly sales report and graphs prepared for accuracy, highlighting and commenting on key movements
Co-ordinate the flash monthly reporting process, review and comment on variances to forecast/ budget and last year and what the drivers are behind those movements
Co-ordinate and ensure month end completed on-time/ accurately
Conduct monthly balance sheet reviews with the 2 Financial Analysts and Financial Accountant - making sure these reviewed and signed off
Review analysis of BS risks and upsides to P&L from the Balance Sheet
Review and control of other BS accounts such as inter-company accounts
Responsible for the preparation of the cash-flow forecasts for Food and Pharma and giving commentary on variances to actual results
Prepare P&L analyses and commentary for Food and Pharma business for forecast versus budget versus last year
Ensure that all the legal entity documents (loan documents, service agreements etc) are properly documented and filed correctly
Co-ordinate and liaise with the external auditors for interim audit and full year audit and year end making sure all their information requirements met
Other tasks (ad-hoc analysis and support to me)
Supervise the 2 Financial Analysts and Financial Accountant

Gezocht profiel
Degree in accounting/ finance or equivalent qualification (CIMA), Hofam, HBO Controller.
Strong accounting knowledge, familiar with P&L, BS and cash-flows
A minimum of 5/6 years experience in a similar position
Accurate and must have the ability to deliver to deadlines (on-time)
Excellent communicator, must be proactive and a team player
Good management skills
Must be good at multi-tasking, a good organizer/ ability to manage workload effectively
High level of enthusiasm
Above average excel skills and knowledge of financial system JD Edwards and consolidation system Hyperion an advantage
Excellent English, both written and spoken.
