SHV originated in 1896 in the Netherlands from a merger between a number of large coal trading companies, some of which had been active since the 18th century. After the decline of coal as the primary source of energy halfway through the twentieth century, the company moved into other business areas. Today SHV's activities involve trade and distribution of LPG, cash and carry wholesale, provision of private equity, exploration and production of oil and gas, investment in sustainable energy solutions, heavy lifting and transport solutions.

At the holding in Utrecht, the Netherlands, an opportunity as International Business Controller has arisen. This is a unique opportunity for a driven and analytical financial who would like to grow in to a senior role at one of the operating companies of SHV which are mainly based abroad. The successful candidate reports to the Corporate Controller and will be responsible for various international activities, including delivering accurate management reports and information to the Executive Board of Directors.

Omschrijving
Monthly performance reviews with a special focus on a number of selected SHV Business Units.
Provide adequate management reporting to the Executive Board of Directors (EBD) and Senior Staff.
Advise the EBD on affairs relating to corporate governance and adequate internal control framework, and participate in drawing up relevant guidelines.
Support the EBD decision making process with respect to acquisitions, investments, divestments and financing by drawing up proposals, analyzing and reviewing proposals made by the SHV business units
Take part in due diligence activities
Participate in the review of past investments made and perform other -ad hoc- analysis

Gezocht profiel
Educated on academic level in (Financial) Business administration, preferably combined with post-academic controlling or accountancy
Approximately 3 to 5 years relevant experience, preferably in an international business environment
Excellent analytical and financial skills, good knowledge of taxes and accounting standards
Hands-on experience in controlling/finance combined with the ability to see the overall picture
Accurate, trustworthy, driven and professional with a high level of responsibility
Excellent communication and presentation skills in Dutch and English
The ideal candidate feels comfortable at holding-level but has also the potential to grow into a senior role within one of the operating companies
Internationally mobile world wide
