Sr. Manager - Global Trade Management

About Our Client
Our client is a Fortune 300 global manufacturing company with significant growth opportunities.
This position will work with Senior Management to ensure 1) adherence to law and regulations governing Import and Export compliance across (EMEA) Region, 2) evaluate and interpret customs laws and regulations and how they impact the businesses, 3) coordinate and implement any change of current policies and processes in accordance with Corporate Global Trade Policy and/or local law/regulation, 4) communicate with Business/Division leaders across EMEA to support Business initiatives on a priority basis and 5) will be responsible for overseeing tasks associated with importing and exporting goods within the EMEA Region.
Evaluate current trade compliance policies and processes to identify growth opportunities and process improvements to enhance success of the Corporation, while ensuring compliance. Lead implementation of processes/systems to support Corporation's Global Trade Management policies for all business units.
o Continuously determine strategies to reduce annual duties and fees, and lead participation in Free Trade Agreement (FTA) programs, duty suspension, and other duty reduction programs
o Provide training to business unit personnel regarding Trade rules & regulations in conjunction with Corporate GTM/business goals. .
o Manage Customs audits in EMEA region, with appropriate collaboration and assistance across functions and from business leaders.
o Develop, implement and conduct self-audit programs for GTM tasks/programs Lead periodic internal control testing to ensure adherence to compliance programs and SOP's. Participate in Sarbanes Oxley testing as required
o Develop, implement and oversee maintenance of trade compliance manuals governing imports and exports: Implement and document desktop procedures for all GTM related tasks.
o Partner with procurement, business development, R&D, Supply Chain, Finance ,etc. to provide assistance in calculating benefits/consequences related to new sourcing or new product development opportunities: Communicate results.
o Work with procurement organization to Standardize vendor procedures with all suppliers to insure compliant generation of required documentation for imports
o Ensure proper valuation and classification of goods,
o Ensure all records relating to GTM and trade compliance activities are maintained, retained and readily retrievable per local Customs regulations.
o Work with GTM Senior Management and BU leaders o centralize selection and management of customs brokers for business units, including service agreements, SOP's and performance measurements/metrics.
o Monitor export processes and provide guidance to sites where exports are handled.
The Successful Applicant
o Bachelors Degree and 8 plus years experience in International Trade & Customs Compliance activity -required; experience in working in a manufacturing/retail company preferred.
o Solid Trade background in European import and export processes/procedures-required: working knowledge of EMEA wide import/export regulations:
o Ability to balance rule driven processes with creative problem solving skills
o Proven ability to lead collaboration across organizational units and functions to successfully complete projects on time and meet corporate objectives.
o Excellent communication skills, both oral & written with the ability to communicate at all levels of an organization. communicate clearly and effectively in all situations, have excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to influence others
o Ability to manage both directly, and indirectly, across functions and geographic regions:
o Demonstrated project management skills essential with proven ability to consistently meet deadlines: Proven follow-up skills.
o Possess excellent prioritization skills; proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, manage "hot issues" without compromising other tasks and their deliverables.
o Multi-language capability preferred
