More than thirty international dairy brands are the living proof. Millions of people in over one hundred countries are thus provided with milk, baby and infant food, dairy drinks, yoghurts, desserts, cheese, butter, milk powder, ingredients and juices. With more than 13,500 farmers and 22,000 employees achieved a turnover of over 11 billion euros in 2015.
FrieslandCampina annually processes approximately 10 billion kilograms of milk of which the majority came from the cooperative members. The department Milk Valorization & Allocation has the objective to render the milk optimally.
Using advanced modeling and scenario analyses the Dairy Market Intelligence Unit (DMI) forecasts developments in the European and world dairy market. On top of that, the unit DMI also forecasts dairy commodities prices and the milk price for farmers. A third important task is to inform and advise the FrieslandCampina organization of the market and price developments to be expected.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Analyzing trends of supply and demand for milk products on the European and world dairy market; making periodic forecasts and initiating proposals for improvement;
The search for indicators that affect the supply, demand and prices on the milk market;
The critical assessment of (market) data submitted from international sources;
Preparing and presenting market analyses and scenario outcomes of the milk to FrieslandCampina's commercial divisions and the meeting with commercial directors;
Informing the FrieslandCampina organization expected market and price developments and advise on management decisions;
The monthly co-writing the internal report Dairy Insights on the expected market price developments and receivers for the FrieslandCampina organization.
The Successful Applicant
In order to be successful in this position, we expect the candidate to have the following qualifications:
High-potential, highly analytical, results-oriented, proactive and flexible completed university studies;
General economy with a number of courses in econometrics, affinity with agriculture;
At least 2 years of job experience, preferably in agribusiness and related sectors;
Experience creating and maintaining equilibrium models and some econometric models;
Understanding of and affinity with the financial consequences of their own actions;
Can handle resistance and is able to distinguish major and minor issues;
Creates and happy to give presentations and communication skills.
