As the Innovation Delivery Manager (IDM) your primary responsibility will be to successfully lead multidisciplinary project teams for the integrated delivery of the larger Innovation and Renovation projects to market (Value Delivery) and to support the in-market performance of the project in market till project closure (Building success). You will acquire a portfolio of your own projects. The business categories you will be working with and delivering for will have a heavy focus in the tea category, which has increasing significance within JDE along with Geo Graphical expansion projects. As the need for projects in this category expands, you will recruit team members accordingly.
The IDM acts as the project lead and manages multidisciplinary project teams which consist of Marketing, Finance, Operations, Value Stream and Research & Development with 5 or 6 work-stream leads and an average of 15-25 indirect reports. You will report directly to the Global Innovation Delivery Director. Furthermore there is intensive collaboration with other functions, specifically marketing.
Your role starts at the point of programming and project scoping where you partner with our global marketing team. It is your responsibility to manage the overall delivery program on geo expansion and tea plus on the individual projects achieve the project deliverables on costs, quality and timing by bringing together cross-functional teams & expertise, set clear parameters of project responsibilities and act as the interface between technical & commercial, allowing the different departments to truly appreciate the variation in functional perspectives & value add this brings.
The Successful Applicant
To be successful in this role you will bring 10+ years of experience in innovation management in a multi-functional environment interacting with Marketing; R&D Purchasing and/or Operations & Manufacturing.
You will have exceptional skills in both managing people (indirectly) and complex projects, asking the right questions and driving simplicity into the communications. You will bring technical & commercial thinking and be able to translate the requirements to & between both functional areas. You will have proven business acumen gained through experiential learning. It is critical that you can lead & influence in a project management capacity & bring your commercial & business acumen to the table. This will allow you to understand the competing & complimentary priorities of your Finance, Marketing, and R&D, Operations, Sales colleagues and project stakeholders.
