Dyas is an active investor in upstream oil and gas ventures and is part of the privately owned multi-national SHV group of companies. Dyas business focus is on exploration & production (E&P) in the Dutch, UK and Danish sectors of the North Sea, as well as offshore peninsular Malaysia, Sarawak and Sabah. The company is engaged in the entire exploration & production value chain from exploration to decommissioning. Efficient day to day stewardship of the existing asset portfolio is augmented with the continuous identification and evaluation of potential new investment opportunities. Dyas is knowledgeable and actively involved in the decision-making at the asset level, however the company does this strictly as a non-operator.
Dyas has been in business for over 50 years. Current daily production is ca. 19,000 barrels of oil per day, from a hydrocarbon reserves base of ca. 90 million barrels.
The compact Dyas organisation (ca. 20 FTE), consisting of experienced E&P, financial, and legal professionals, works closely together in a flat and informal setting. This enables nimble decision making, which allows Dyas to act swiftly to market opportunities.
Dyas is looking to complement its' team with a controller. The position of Financial Controller reports to the CFO and offers a unique opportunity for a finance professional to work in a commercial, result driven environment where finance skills are highly appreciated.
The Financial Controller has a functional role in the Dyas Finance team (6 staff including CFO) and together with the other two financial controllers you will spend most of your time being responsible for accounting for and reporting of finance related matters of Dyas entities in a number of countries such as Jersey, Denmark, Malaysia, Germany, Singapore, Australia and possibly other countries. In addition, you will assist in financial analysis for acquisition and disposal of assets as well as strategy decisions. We expect the successful candidate will move over time in the role of one of the other two controllers to take up the responsibility for a larger Dyas entity. This job will suit a finance professional who is well versed in reporting and control requirements and who will relish the opportunity to operate independently and provide the company with accurate and timely accounts as well as in-depth analysis of business opportunities. 1. Financial reporting and controls of a number of Dyas entities from Utrecht
Monthly reporting for each of the entities
Performing accounting controls
Apply the required accounting standards for group and local reporting
Perform discussions with external auditors and agree final reports to be published
2. Providing the Business Development Managers with financial support and control
Get yourself known with the characteristics and economics of the oil and gas exploration and production business
Build models for business opportunities with a particular emphasis on understanding implications of taxation on the cash flow and profitability of projects, business restructuring and business development opportunities
3. To be expert on reporting issues for group and statutory reporting
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will have a strong professional accounting background and have at least three years work experience with one of the 'big 4' accounting firms. We assume the candidate has already passed examinations of certified accountant or is in the process of obtaining the certificate.

Willingness and eagerness to cover both operational tasks and providing financial support to business development managers
A minimum of 3-5 years of working experience in in an accounting firm
Fluent in English and Dutch.
Experience with Exact and preferably SAP
Experience with all Microsoft Office applications, expert user Excel
