About Our Client
Our client is a leading provider of online research services for legal professionals engaged in cross-border, commercial law. Their product line includes market-leading services, such as arbitration, competition law, IP law, and International Tax Law. Their online services are used globally by law firms, corporate counsel, universities and other professionals requiring legal and compliance information. They currently have an opening for a position as a Business Analyst.
A candidate for the Business Analyst role must be able to easily navigate and manage the three main areas described below. Within this role you will be able to support the entire business unit, which starts from (online) content acquisition to after sales. This role is critical in supporting online product development opportunities and go-to-market initiatives.
-Support and participation in developing strategies, e.g. in cost reduction, business model development
-Develop ad hoc reporting needs, document business requirements and implement solutions
-Support and coordinate sales commission information -Build reporting structure for User Statistics purpose (COUNTER compliance & Google Analytics)
-Create ad hoc financial and performance analyses, e.g. revenue, cost and margin trends
-Maintain (CRM) databases and assist departments in use of these programs -Support Managing Director as well as Sales Director in various ad hoc reporting and analysis requests
-Contribute to the further improvement of Management Information flows
-Build and maintain effective relationships in a culturally diverse organization
-Develop data mining solutions -Perform regression analysis
-Assist with budgeting and rolling forecasting support
-Manage various databases and the reporting and analysis processes around the databases
-Support continuous improvement of the Management Information reporting process flow
The Successful Applicant
-5-8 years' experience in a multinational corporation, operating in a company environment
-University (Master/Drs) degree in Finance, business economics or similar
-Excel 'power user', knowledge of VBA is required!
-Deep understanding of databases like Access (SQL knowledge is required!) and COGNOS
-Preferably hands-on experience with Hyperion Essbase
-Strong quantitative analytical skills combined with solid understanding of financial concepts
-Preferably SAP and Business Objects experience
-Preferably experienced with sales compensation planning
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Fluency in English, other European languages are a plus
